Since its inception in 1970, Grafton Machine & Rubber Company has become a leading specialist in the design of near-net shape tooling for isostatic pressing, serving a variety of major industrial markets throughout the United States and beyond.

The company's founder, George Grafton, acquired broad engineering experience in isostating pressing prior to opening GM&R. He was a long-standing member of the Powdered Metal Industrial Association who was a noted innovater and recognized name in the field from 1952 until the time of his death in 1995. George passed on the business and his experience in 1986 to the now current president of the company, his son Monty Grafton.

With this in-depth experience, GM&R created a highly skilled team of engineers and craftsmen uniquely qualified to provide the powdered metal industry with precision and quality in isostatic design and tooling.

By the time Grafton celebrated its first decade, the firm had undergone phenomenal growth, expanding initial plant facilities 15 times in size to accomodate the growing demand for its high-hold tolerance latex-dipped products and urethane parts. Originally a general machine and tool shop, GM&R has developed its isostatic fabricating and dipping capabilites to where this segment of operations now accounts for more than 70 percent of its total output.
